Moses fled from Pharaoh’s presence and dwelled in the land of Midian…And the priest of Midian had seven daughters…and Moses agreed to dwell with the man…and he gave Zipporah his daughter to Moses. Under the roof of a priest with seven daughters, Moses found refuge. Rabbenu Bahya explained that this was a calculated decision. Moses believed that a priest was more likely to offer him asylum from Pharaoh and he also believed that a man with seven daughters would be especially inclined to be hospitable toward him.
