Moses spoke to the heads of the tribes of Israel and said "this is the matter that God has commanded." Whereas all the prophets began, "such is what God said," meaning the best they could do was an approximation of what God told them. Moses prophesized by saying this is what God has said – a completely perfect rendering of God's word. The Sfat Emet explains that sometimes the best we can do in life is an approximation – an imperfect rendering. This should not hold us back and on the contrary, with enough trying and searching we are able to arrive at our truth-point.
